Open Studios

It’s been a fun week with alot of friends and visitors at my First Friday Studio Stroll and Open Studios.

I got some great feedback on my work, and many especially liked my imaginary creatures from the “Caledenia Novemtentaculus” series that I’ll post today.

Thanks to all who stopped by my studio.

studio heat

so despite the heat I have been working in my studio alot this week(fountain st studios, 3rd floor east, no. 9) and without my fan it would be miserable. I finished two paintings and a drawing this week that had been sitting there looking at me while I looked at them. they told me how to finish them so I did. I guess my work was heating up right along with the weather. Here’s this drawing, Plume,  it’s all about a cool plume of water, that I really like, part of my india ink series.

one hot day

so I start with swimming my laps,(7:45am) and proceed to my studio where it’s like 90 degrees at 9:30am, then go to the food project this afternoon to get our weekly produce, and there it’s about 95, and then I go to ali’s swim meet and keep score at 5pm and there it’s probably 100. I love summer but this is hot. Here’s one of the pieces I worked on today. It’s about the Sudbury River and its sorry state of mercury contamination. It’s really not quite done.
