Painting in my studio

Thanks if you stopped by for my Friday Stroll yesterday. I always have a great time meeting new people and discussing my art. I’m back to work, splitting my time between two different series. I’m getting ready for my two-person show at Galatea Gallery in SOWA, February, 2010. It seems like a long time from now, but I know the time will fly by, and it will be here before I know it!

studio heat 09

Painting in the studio in August is a challenge, especially when it’s around 90 degrees outside, and lots higher in the studio with no AC.  I’ve got a fan, but really, it’s not big enough for the heat some days. So my favorite thing to paint on a hot day is something cool and blue and waterlike…here’s some new abstract work that’s been coming together this summer,  oil paints with powdered pigments in medium, very experimental for me, and I’m not really sure if they’re done, or not?
