Bio

Born in Sandusky, Ohio, Becky grew up alongside Lake Erie where her love of the water began. She drew and painted as a child, an urge to create that has continued throughout her life.
She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio, in 1983. In 2007 (and ongoing) she began studying at the DeCordova Museum School.
Since graduating college she has lived in Ohio, Tampa, Chicago and Boston. Over the course of her professional career, she has worked as an illustrator, silkscreen artist, graphic designer, corporate designer and art director. Becky continued to paint and draw through these working years.
In 1992 she married and started a family. While raising her children, Becky continued both painting and freelance graphic design. A few years ago she decided to paint full-time, and started working in her studio at Fountain Street Studios.  She currently lives west of  Boston with her husband, daughter and son.
As a lifelong artist Becky has worked in many media, focusing at times on watercolor painting and drawing/mixed media. In February 2009, she started painting in oils and has found the medium to be more than expected. ”It will take years to discover what I can do with oil paint.”
In addition to creating art, Becky has taught abstract painting for the Intramural Arts program at the Wayland Middle School – an afterschool art enrichment program. She also teaches group and private art lessons/workshops out of her studio. For the past six years she has contributed to the community by volunteering for the WMS Theater Department designing stage sets.

  1. Becky, I do like your artwork. It works for me. I am too fascinated with science and capturing moments in time and my seemingly chillike work is all about that. It has been a (another) revelation reading your statement. Thanks a lot for making the world seem less intimidating for a while and for the ride in your time machine.
